Blackberries, Blueberries, Green Beans and Cucumbers … Freezer Jam, veggies and pickles. Corn is nearly ready, as is the squash.  Don’t know if the tomatoes will make it … it was a very cool spring and early summer.

There is something about Autumn that stirs me. I love it.  The colors, the fruits of (husband’s) labor being gathered, husband scouting areas for game, our dog getting excited as he senses that hunting season is near. Wood is chopped and stacked. Amidst the crisp cool mist in the early morning and glorious sunsets at the beach, there is a sense of being ready to settle in … cozy and safe for winter. Perhaps it is a pioneer heart that feels a kinship with the land …  and gratitude for at all it has to give.

But for those that know me, I will admit that it is a rare early morning mist that I see.  I sorta sleep a little later than that.

The domestic work is done, and now I get to write.  See y’all another day.
